Despite the difficulties in losing weight, I still searched for ways to get back to what I knew. I tried several meal plans and ordered “healthy” vegetarian meals, which I ate for 6 days a week. I thought that by eating “healthy,” I would eat the right amounts to become satiated, and I’d have good fuel for my body and mind. While I would have some initial weight loss, I would always balloon back to the same range.
I was ready to take Ozempic or other weight loss medications, and I was actually scheduled to be seen by my doctor to get the required prior authorizations. I had Wegovy prescriptions in my name, and I was desperate enough to consider ordering the compounded variety for $200 a month. But somehow it wasn’t meant to be- and my doctor got sick and cancelled the appointment.
I thought there was no way possible that I could lose weight at this time because, between a new, demanding job, and raising a child, there was no way I’d have enough time to exercise. So I thought I needed medical help.
